Why are we creating this series?
In its simplest form, we are energy-data experts and want to share our knowledge. The Energy Transition Platform is an energy-focused software platform built to help utilities, industrials, and energy system operators better understand, analyze and operate their energy grids. Utilities and other energy system operators have a plethora of data available. Data-generating devices connected to energy grids, such as smart meters, SCADA, DER, EVSE, and others, produce enormous amounts of insight-extractable measurement data.
When it comes to data and extracting full value out of data, it isn’t easy to know where to begin. Awesense has worked for over a decade, enabling utilities, industrials, and other energy system operators to get meaningful insights from their energy data, and transform them into actionable decisions. Through this series, we will educate our customers, partners, and any organization that hopes to become more data-driven.
What exactly is the Awesense Platform providing?
Awesense provides tools to integrate a wide array of disparate data systems, connect, synchronize, align and normalize these data sources, and make this data accessible.
Using external analytical tools, Awesense provides our customers and partners with a seamless ability to rapidly access their critical data, build and test custom applications and use cases, and extract valuable insights for critical decision-making. These tools include Business Intelligence tools, data science Notebooking tools, and other analytical software tools.
Awesense’s Data Engine and Energy Data Model provide a foundation for developing analytics, applications and algorithms focused on energy systems, such as a grid. The data model provides a framework to seamlessly integrate critical data from any energy system and build solutions and applications on top of that model. These designed solutions are replicable across any other external jurisdiction, utilities or energy systems due to the standardization performed by the Data Engine. These use cases, analytics and applications may be easily reproduced and sold to other energy system providers, thus expanding revenue streams and accelerating deployments.
How are we going to explain all of this?
In this series, Awesense will release information on popular tools that many utility professionals use daily. Awesense will demonstrate how these tools can be easily used for building custom analytics, use cases and applications. This series intends to demonstrate that skill level, and specific tool expertise doesn’t play a significant role if someone wants to build on top of The Energy Transition Platform. During this series, the Awesense team will cover spreadsheets, Business Intelligence (BI) tools, data science notebooking tools, ETL tools and others and demonstrate its work on the Awesense Sandbox Development Environment.
